An experiment in conformity

I'm still in Atlanta, but I had a few thoughts right before I go to the airport.  As I was packing for this trip, I remembered the last time I went to NYC expecting to see a city full of stylish and colorful people.  When I arrived, I noticed that New Yorkers wear black, black and black.  Well, that may be an exaggeration.  They do wear some brown.  Anyway, I felt like I stuck out like a neon sign walking around in my purple top carrying a black and white umbrella.  In Atlanta you see all kinds of colorful umbrellas.  In NYC, nobody- and I mean nobody - carries anything other than a solid black umbrella.  (I actually lost my umbrella on the second day there and felt like God had taken it away from me for my safety.)

So today I was trying to dress in dark colors for my trip, and it was making me depressed.  So, I put this on-

Let's see how long it takes me to change once I get there.  In an effort to not look too much like a tourist, I am bringing my new faux leather jacket from Target -

And I changed my nail color from pink to blue.  I am sure I will have more thoughts on the issue of conformity once I return.
