Relaxing in Palm Springs

After a weekend in Las Vegas, Greg and I boarded a small plane and flew an hour to Palm Springs.  It was like we landed in an oasis.  We walked down wide peaceful streets filled with flowers and surrounded by mountains.

Since the area is known for its mid century modern architecture, I wanted to experience a little of the Rat Pack era by staying in The Hideaway -

I don't know this guy, but he looked nice and relaxed.

We planned to tour the ritzy neighborhoods where Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe vacationed and to go hiking in the Indian Canyons, but it was so relaxing that we spent most of our time reading by the pool.  We did walk to town often (2 minutes from our hotel), and we strolled through the surrounding neighborhood to look at the beautiful flowers and architecture.  I'll show you some of that tomorrow.
