Especially during the holiday season, I try to grab energy from wherever I can find it. Here are the 3 things that have helped me the most -
1. Zumba - This is basically trying to follow a very dancy,bouncy instructor while jumping up and down for an hour. It seems counter-intuitive that exercise would give you energy, but it does. Evidently, jumping and running around like children with high intensity causes your body to release "young" hormones. 2. Wellness Formula - I take a lot of vitamins, but this is the only one that I can actually feel working. If I feel like I'm coming down with a cold, I start taking this. I can literally feel the cold go away. You can buy this at Whole Foods. (I am not a doctor, and this is not doctor's advice. Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.)
3. Sleep - This is an obvious one, but I often have to force myself to go to bed even when I'm not done with everything I want to do in a day.
It's definitely harder for me to exercise and sleep when I'm busy (like now), because those are the two easiest activites to cut out of my schedule. But I have to do what is important and not just what seems urgent. So, let's all grab some energy this weekend!
