Across the street

It's nice to have neighbors across the street who make their yard look pretty.  I think the combination of these flowers with the ferns hanging in the background on the front porch look particularly Southern.  I don't really like ferns, but they make me feel at home.  They remind me of my childhood.  Are ferns Southern or do people hang them on their front porches in other parts of the country?

Cactus flower

We don't have many cacti here in Atlanta, so this conglomeration is fascinating to me.  It looks like it is from another planet.  For the rest of the flowers and architecture of Palm Springs, you will have to wait another day.  I have been absorbed in cleaning and reorganizing my house.  I think it is the cool spring breeze that makes me want to rid my house of junk.

Spring is here

This morning I can't get this song from "My Little Pony" out of my head - "Winter wrap up, Winter wrap up.  Spring is here.  Spring is here!"  The azaleas are blooming here in Atlanta, and that means (as much as I still long for a winter) spring is here.  So, I'm going to enjoy all of the beautiful flowers and sunshine -
