January deals - Part 2

I really believe we should start saving our money and all go shopping together in January.  I found another great deal.  It was at Target, where there are many deals to be had, but this particular deal was a "big name designer" collaboration.

This dress is perfectly puffy and a beautiful color for my blondies.  And as a bonus, the designer is -

My daughter knew exactly who is behind the name Marchesa, because we watch Georgina Chapman judge Project Runway All-Stars every week.  The only problem was that when I first saw it, the dress was priced at $79.99.  A little much for a little girl.  Last week, it was 40% off.  Better price, but it's "dry clean only".  This week, I decided I was going to buy it anyway, because I knew my daughter would love it.  Bonus time - it was on clearance for $23.  Sold and sold.  Now, both of my girls will be wearing Marchesa for Target at their next fancy outing.

Missoni for Target Update

Yesterday, I posted that Missoni for Target is sold out.  Well, today when I went to Target (yes, I shop there every week), I was excited to see a few sweaters and blouses on the rack.  A sales lady said the items have been trickling in, so she didn't know if they were coming from returns or from the manufacturer. 

There was no sleeveless sweater dress, which is the one I really wanted.  But they did have this cool blouse -

I bought it, but I'm still trying to decide whether or not to keep it.  I love the zig zags, and black and white definitely fits into my wardrobe.  However, it's not really well designed - notice that the zig zags don't match up in the front.  The $500 Missoni shirts would never have that problem.   I'm not a perfectionist, so it doesn't bother me that much.  It does bother me that I paid for the "name" when the product seems to be the same quality as Target's regular lines which are much cheaper.

This pattern is a little much for me, so I returned that one to the rack. 

So, if you were sad (like me) that you missed this line, check your local Target store again.  (No, Target doesn't pay me.  I pay them.)

Missoni for Target is sold out

I may have been the last to hear that news.  I got stuck in blogger land last week and naively showed up at Target 2 days too late.  As heavily as this designer line at discount prices was promoted in New York, I should have expected consumers to snatch it up.  As a special promotion during Fashion Week, Target placed their humongous "blogger" in different locations in New York.  Here she is being unveiled in front of the Standard Hotel -

I am a big fan of Missoni's trademark zigzag designs and fun color combinations.  I am also a huge fan of Target.  So I was sold on this collection sight unseen.  Fortunately when I showed up late to the party on Thursday, I found this denim shirt on sale.  It made me feel a lot better.
