Checked or plaid?

I ended Wednesday's post with a question about "checked" versus "plaid".  So, I looked it up.  Checked is a pattern of squares.  Plaid consists of crossing bands or stripes of color.  According to those definitions, this guy would be wearing a cool skinny plaid tie and holding a unique plaid phone -

Now is this next guy wearing a checked or plaid shirt?

I'm leaning toward plaid.  But whatever it is, I love this bold combination with the argyle (just to throw in another pattern) sweater vest.

And he's wearing plaid shoes!

Street Style - Marietta Square

Last week, I visited the Marietta Square for the first time and ran into Lauren -

She writes for Georgia City Style, a college based life and style blog.  I love her hat and scarf combo.  It's an easy way to add style to a simple black dress.
